Library Offers "MySpace" Program

"MySpace" is reportedly the single most popular website currently in use. That's pretty big. There has also been a lot of controversy, as with anything this popular. What's all the fuss about? How can my children use this site safely? How do I make my MySpace page look awesome? Answers to these questions and more at our program on Monday, October 2nd at 6:30 pm. Presented by Teen Scene, but open to any and all who wish to learn more about this phenomenon.

OCPL a Favorite Field Trip

School classes enjoy field trips to the library, and we at the library are happy to provide this fun service. Many different elementary school classes will be visiting our library during the school year, some once a month. For those who cannot come to us, we also offer "outreach" programs in which we come to the school.

Water Festival

Water Festival attendees listen avidly as they learn about "watershed" "erosion" and "pollution", with a fun and interesting demonstration.

SuperDrip, everyone's favorite water advocate, listens intently to the fascinating story read by our own Mrs. Coppedge, as he awaits his "meet and greet" duties that include handing out goodie bags and free bottles of water.

Festival attendees learn the importance of proper hand washing to help stop germs from spreading. Glitter served as a visual aid, standing in for the germs.

Apple Butter Festival Parade

As part of Owen County Public Library's 100th Birthday celebration, we took part in this year's Apple Butter Festival parade. Each participant, which included employees of the library, Summer Reading top readers, and others, "wore a year" or two to represent each year of the century. Thank you to all who participated, it was lots of fun.
