Book Donations For Pine Ridge Reservation.

Help children of the Pine Ridge Lakota Reservation to build their own library by donating new or very gently used books. These books will be sent to the Oglala Lakota College Library for their “Build Your Own Library” program.

The Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota covers 1.7 million acres, and is home to around 30,000 people. There is one public library.; the Oglala Lakota College Library. The OLCL has developed a program called “Build Your Own Library” to help the children of Pine Ridge develop a lifelong love of reading. They travel to each of the 11 districts on the reservation every two weeks to invite all children to a story reading in which each child is sent home with 3-4 new or very gently used books. The OLCL also supplies books to Headstart programs and local schools, so books of every level are accepted.
